Log cabins and summerhouses for sale
From a corner summerhouse to a 70 mm log cabin you can use all year. We'll pass your enquiry to UK suppliers who quote delivered or installed prices.
Log thickness is the big decision
- 19 to 28 mm: summer use, storage, a play room.
- 34 to 44 mm: three-season use and small home offices with a heater.
- 58 to 70 mm: all-year use, especially with floor and roof insulation and double glazing.
Summerhouse or cabin?
A summerhouse is usually a lighter, glazed building for sitting in during warmer months, often with a corner or octagonal shape. A log cabin uses interlocking solid logs and is sturdier, larger and easier to insulate.
Before you order
Log cabins need a perfectly level, square base. They also settle as the timber dries, so doors and windows are fitted with allowance for movement. Many suppliers offer installation. Check the height against the planning limits in our rules guide.

Can I use a log cabin as an office?
Yes, with 44 mm logs or thicker, insulation and a qualified electrician to run the power. Under 15 m² and with no sleeping in it, it is usually exempt from building regulations in England and Wales.
How long do log cabins last?
With a good base and treatment every two to three years, a quality cabin can last 20 years or more.
